It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 1st Borneo Health Summit 2025<\/strong>, held in the vibrant town of Sibu, Sarawak<\/strong>. This landmark event brings together a diverse community of healthcare stakeholders, leaders, and dedicated professionals from across Borneo and beyond.<\/p>

At a time when the call for greater health autonomy<\/strong> in the region is gaining momentum, this Summit provides an invaluable platform for meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. Together, we will explore the challenges and opportunities that define our healthcare landscape\u2014from policy and infrastructure to community engagement and service delivery.<\/p>

The theme for this conference is \u201cTowards 2030 : A better health for all\u201d.<\/strong> Why 2030? It is not too far away, and yet time enough for building foundations for better health for all. Although this theme sounds simple, it carries a meaningful vision for all of us to strive to achieve improvements in health outcomes.<\/p>

During the conference, we invite you to engage deeply in the discussions, share your insights and experiences, and forge partnerships that will strengthen our collective mission to build a more resilient, equitable, and locally-empowered health system in Borneo.<\/p>

Greeting everyone and welcome to Borneo Health Summit 2025 \u2014 a gathering that brings together some of the brightest minds and most dedicated hearts in the field of public health. It is my great honor and privilege, as Chairman of the Scientific Committee, to warmly welcome each and every one of you to this important event.<\/p>

This conference is more than a meeting of professionals \u2014 it is a call to action. Today, we unite across disciplines, sectors, and borders with a shared mission: Sarawak Health Toward 2030.<\/p>

During this summit, you will hear from renowned experts, witness the presentation of by experienced and established speakers, and engage in thought-provoking discussions. We hope the sessions not only inform but inspire \u2014 encouraging new partnerships, bold ideas, and practical solutions.<\/p>

On behalf of the Sarawak Public Health Practitioners Association or SaPHePA, it is our great honour to welcome you to join our 1st Borneo Health Summit. This inaugural summit marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to advance public health in Sarawak, especially for SaPHePA as it organises its 1st<\/sup> ever conference. We are proud to host this event here in Sibu Sarawak, a land rich in cultural diversity and community strength.<\/p>

The Sarawak Public Health Practitioners Association (SaPHePA) was established in 2024. Its membership comprises primarily public health medicine specialists, medical doctors, and allied health professionals who are actively engaged in public health practice across Sarawak. The formation of SaPHePA reflects the recognition that Sarawak faces unique public health challenges that require locally driven solutions. SaPHePA serves as a dedicated platform for public health professionals to come together, share expertise, and collaboratively plan and implement initiatives aimed at strengthening the public health profession and improving population health in Sarawak. As public health professionals, it is crucial to stay united by a shared vision of healthier communities, equitable access to care, and sustainable health systems.<\/p>

Our 1st Borneo Health Summit will be held together with the 41st Sarawak Health Conference, under the theme \u201cHealth Towards 2030: A Better Health for All.\u201d Our goal is to foster meaningful dialogue, inspire fresh perspectives, and encourage collaboration across disciplines and borders. It challenges us to rethink how we deliver care, strengthen our systems, embrace innovation, and ensure no one is left behind in the journey towards better health outcomes. The summit program is filled with engaging keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to enrich your experience and broaden your professional horizons. We invite you to share your expertise, build networks, and contribute to shaping a healthier, more equitable future for all communities across Sarawak and Borneo.<\/p>

It is our hope that this summit will become a new platform dedicated to addressing the shared health challenges and opportunities across Borneo and inspire innovative approaches to the unique health challenges faced in Sarawak.
